We would like to give a huge congratulations to Fariz Sawal who recently became a PADI IDC Staff Instructor with the PADI IDC Gili Islands.
After a pre assessment of your instructor-level knowledge of dive theory, exemplary dive skills and role-model presentation techniques, staff instructor candidates will participate in these sessions:
- Instructor development standards, procedures and curriculum
- How to organize and conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course
- The psychology of evaluation and counseling
- Evaluating knowledge development, confined water and open water teaching presentations
Although many people imply Fariz looks like he is from a Central American country such as Mexico, he is actually from Malaysia and has previously trained in Thailand and worked in various locations in Asia. Fariz speaks English and Bahasa Malaysia allowing him to converse fluently and assist with local Indonesian candidates. During his staff instructor course Fariz demonstrated a fantastic knowledge and attitude to the PADI education system, scoring full marks on his IDC examinations and always willing to help the Instructor candidates working alongside him.Fariz will clearly make an excellent contribution to the Industry and especially in terms of Instructor training and will hopefully continue his career whilst working towards the Master Instructor rating; an essential prerequisite for the Course Director Training Course (CDTC). We would like to wish Fariz the best of luck with his future and really hope that he chooses to join us on future PADI IDC Gili Islands Programs.
